The Food Policy Hub becomes a key place for the launch of nascent or expanding business activities of social interest and an operational base in which a series of processes are activated aimed at creating, communicating and transferring the value of the business product to possible consumers and to manage relations with them so that this benefits the company itself, its stakeholders, but above all the city community. The restructuring activities of the environments, financed by the ERDF, which will host the social enterprises involved in the project are closely connected with the training, support and mentoring actions of the social enterprise foreseen in the ESF. In particular, in addition to the infrastructural interventions to be carried out on the building, necessary for the launch of the Food Policy activities, the funding from the ERDF is aimed at the purchase of tools, equipment and tools useful for allowing the start-up, or even the expansion of the shares of social enterprises that will operate in the hub.
The process of training and accompaniment to the company will be useful and indispensable, not only for defining design ideas in the food sector, defining development strategies and evaluating their feasibility and sustainability over time, but will also be preparatory to defining the tools/equipment hardware and/or software, necessary for the start-up and implementation of the economic activities of potential social enterprises (apps to deal with waste, devices for food distribution, machinery for the production or transformation of food, ...).
